‘Magic Hands’ indeed
If you’re in need of sports/remedial massage and in the London area, be sure to give Michael ‘The Magic Hands’ Collins a try. I’ve been having treatment on and off for more than 20 years now and Michael’s work was fabulous. He’s a racer himself, and he understands what you are looking for and will get you back on your feet with good, solid treatment and thorough advice.

Thanks Michael, hope I don’t have to see you again too soon! And thanks also to @donna_de for the referral – another happy client 🙂

“What do long-distance running and marijuana smoking have in common?”
Great and very interesting article courtesy of @davidawinter on why we do what we do.

Another one for the runner’s wishlist.
Pearl Izumi, customer service kings

I won a competition from Pearl Izumi earlier on in the year when I was living in the US, and my prize was a pair of new shoes. Unfortunately the wrong size came my way so I asked if I could get a swap. Kody at Pearl said that I could not only keep/give away the original pair, but that a new pair would hit me soon enough. So time went by and I moved back here to the UK. And I wondered if there was a problem, but didn’t ask because they were a prize, a freebie, and sometimes things just get forgotten even with the best of intentions. I know guys are busy, and all that. So I sent a chaser. Just to ask… When these (above)Â turned up this morning I was exceedingly happy! And two pairs – the SyncroFuel road version and the XC one, too!!
Kody, thank you very much for this. This is fantastic customer service and I am most grateful. It’s a great example, and if other firms in all sectors took notice of this kind of approach they would also reap the benefit of new fans and customers down the line.

Triathlon kit, ready to go.
Part of a series of clips on ‘Wild Swims’ by Kate Rew, featired in The Guardian.

This day seems so long ago now. Ride24, back in June.

Stocking up.

I can sit downstairs here at RFH or pay and sit upstairs. If there are power points I just might do it. We will see.

Windsor races last night. Owners, trainer and jockey of Gwilym having a few final words pre race

The only thing this piece of kit is really made for – racing.
