An interesting article from Prolific North where the BBC Director of News and Current Affairs is talking about providing better quality news to local communities. Would appear that the ideal route to do this would be to empower more citizen reporting and broadcasting through social media channels but will be interesting to see what happens next, if anything. I’m sure the quality of reporting local issues on the BBC has plenty of room for improvement.
